One of the most illustrious collections of personal memorabilia, the museum contains about 600 items gifted to President Jayewardene by Kings, Queens and Heads of States and many other state and religious dignitaries the world over.

As one enters, what strikes the eye is the large and ornate Maharishi Bell of Invincibility and the Torch of Pure Knowledge presented by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. To the right is a gold plated cannon and a gold plated sword with a jewel- studded hilt in an ornate gilted scabbard. The cannon presented to President Jayewardene by the Commander of the Army in 1980 is said to be a replica of the cannon presented by Leuke Dissawe to King Sri Vijaya Raja Sinha (1737-1747 A.D.)

The Museum, materially, is a treasure trove, a priceless store house of mementos and gifts presented to a man of great stature who in turn generously bestowed them to be shared with the people and the country he loved so much.
